Why I lost the weight
If I can do it, so can you. Just Imagine. Healthy living improves quality of life and gives you the opportunity to physically travel and do the things you always dreamed of doing.
My Story: Reflecting on life while sitting around the dining room table celebrating another milestone birthday, I had an epiphany. It was just around the time preparing to make a wish before blowing out the half-century candle. Began thinking about my bucket list and asked myself why so many were unchecked. The natural human response is blaming others, justifying why not. At that moment, I referred to a favorite book and author – First Things First by Stephen R. Covey. “If you were to pause and think seriously about the “first things” in your life—the three or four things that matter most—what would they be? Are these things receiving the care, emphasis, and time you really want to give them?” So, I thought about my four things:
- Travel the World and get a better understanding of people and their culture
- A strong desire for group bonding with an emphasis on outdoor activities
- Promoting positive thinking while seeing others find joy in their neighbor’s success
- Spreading the “Classy” Way – a high standard on the way we behave and how things are done
How am I going to accomplish this? What strategies can I use to empower me? The first thought was weight reduction for exploring the hinterlands. Necessary requirement for adequate stamina and mobility to be able to travel and document while participating in outdoor bonding exercises. Exploring the hinterlands on foot or bicycle to get that perfect picture, one will need to be physically prepared.
Next, how can I get people to join me and explore the world in style? Since elementary I always dreamed about exploring rural country with classmates. Unfortunately, the majority of my classmates at the International school did not explore the hinterlands. Even though many were born there, they have no intimate experience of village life, not traveling outside the city limits. To explore, it requires hiking, biking, and canoeing. I’m searching the globe to find as many people with shared values, excited to explore cultures in style. Join me; let’s promote healthy living, group bonding, and positive thinking while motivating others. What’s on your bucket list? Adventure travel, volunteerism, crazy fun, connecting with nature?
